@ Inverurie Golf Club

What is it?

The Scottish Executives’ Clubgolf initiative is a partnership between the Scottish Golf Union, the Scottish Ladies' Golfing Association, the Professional Golfers' Association, the Golf Foundation and Sport Scotland.

The clubgolf plan was intended to introduce golf to all Scottish nine year olds, particularly girls, by 2009. By introducing golf to all nine year olds in their local primary school, it is hoped that those children who enjoy the experience, will move onto 1st level club golf coaching, hosted by their local golf club.

How is Inverurie involved in clubgolf?

During the summer of 2005, four of our members qualified as 1st level Clubgolf coaches, and in September, with the cooperation of our professional John Logue, we ran a very successful clubgolf course for our junior members. Several of our junior members attended the six-week course. The juniors began with a variety of skill levels, and demonstrated an eagerness to learn, improving significantly by the conclusion of the six-week course. We have some very talented juniors here at Inverurie, have a look at the pictures of those juniors who enjoyed our recent course!

Future Plans

In the New Year we will be training eight???? more 1st level clubgolf coaches to help facilitate our ongoing coaching courses, and to ensure coach to student ratios are kept low.

Further information about clubgolf is available in booklets in the Clubhouse, from Fiona Murray or from Carole Paterson.
